Employment Opportunities at EE Stables
Interested in working at EE Stables?
At EE Stables we have a couple of different ways we let folks work in exchange for some of our services. The one you are probably most interested in is working at the barn to pay for lessons. If you've read our mission statement then you already know that we are not in this to make a buck. We are interested in the well being of all the people we have the privilege of meeting, young and old. If you are a student and have a real passion to learn about horses and get educated on riding and caring for them - in short, in becoming a horseman/horsewoman, but you genuinely cannot afford to pay for it then feel free to use our contact form to inquire about open work program positions. If there are open positions and we are actively seeking someone we will indicate that on this page, but chances are that is not the case. However, that does not mean you shouldn't write to us anyway.
Our program has a couple of requirements and rules you need to be aware of before you apply though. First, you will never be paid in cash for any services you render. The goal of our work program is not to enrich you monetarily, but rather to help you grow in your journey of horsemanship. All the work you do will go towards lessons and riding time. Second, your grades and schoolwork come before your barn work and play. You must maintain a C+ average and we do check your interim and report cards. Part of being a successful horse owner is knowing how to make and keep priorities straight. Last but not least, your home life and relationships there are vital. If you slack off on doing home chores or get smart with your parents we are not going to reward you with fun barn stuff. Keeping a positive attitude at home and fulfilling your responsibilities there is a must if you want to work with us. We work with parents, not around them.
Owning horses is not a picnic. For every hour of fun you get with them, you have to put in countless hours of hard work and usually nobody is around to give you a pat on the back and tell you what a great job you just did. You learn that those horses depend on you completely and that is a pretty tall order. If you still think this is something you want to do then give us a shout and tell us about it.
