Wow, it got cold!

Christmas HorseAll things considered, our pony rides were a success for today.  We gave over fifty rides in four hours despite the cold and rain!  I'm sure that lots of folks wanted to come out today but didn't due to the weather.  So, because we love to do these rides and hate that people may have missed out, we've decided to come back to the same spot next week!  We'll be back out on Highway Fifty at Grissom road from ten till two next Saturday.  In the meantime, be sure to check out some pictures of the pony rides from today!

Her first ride ever!I really enjoy these rides for a couple of reasons.  First, its a great way to reach out and meet people in the community.  I think our modern society tends to get too organized and as a result we don't get to meet people in other organizational units.  Second, the grins on the kids faces are just too much.  Sometimes though, the adults have even more fun.  For example, we got the priviledge once again of helping someone experience thier very first horseback ride.  You can see her in the picture at left.  I think she had a blast and we're hoping that her and her family will come out for a trail ride soon.  We got to meet a bunch of nice folks like that today.  It sure was lots of fun today and I certainly am looking forward to next week so we can do it again.  I hope the weather is better but nobody was complaining about the rain today.
