Michelle and I have been married for about four and a half years now. In an effort to prevent babies from entering the scene thus far I have bought or allowed her to have many pets. The list includes frogs, lizards, a hampster, a rabbit, a cat, five dogs, and four horses. Alas - my time has run out. I have reached the end of the pet chain and we now begin the baby chain. It was bound to happen -- the only way to one up the horses was to go with a large cat (like a puma or tiger) or elephant and there are laws and regulations on those things that even I could not get around.
In all seriousness though - I'm excited. Puking in terror and fear, but excited nevertheless. We figure she'll be due in September, but our doctor's appointment is on the 17th and we'll let you know for sure after that.
In other news, we've got a new horse on the farm. Originally intended to see if she could replace Sugar, Dimples has proven to be a sweet and nicely tempered mare. She needs some finishing training and conditioning, but she's a good girl with a sweet disposition. Because of the pregnancy, Michelle has turned her over to Jessica. We currently have her under a lease and we have not decided what her ultimate fate will be at the barn. Michelle will be restricted to riding Tsunami or Lucky for the next few months to make sure baby stays safe.
I have pretty much decided that I need to sell Shalom. We'll be looking to downsize over the next few months to keep the barn easily managed. If you are looking for a good trail horse then let me know. He's a good boy, a gentleman, but he has his faults like any horse. More on that when I put his official for sale notice up. I will be flexible on his price depending on who wants him and their situation. He will only go to an approved, good home.
