This morning when Michelle went out to feed the horses on her way to work she found Sugar had collic'd again last night. This one was far worse that the bout we had three weeks ago. Sugar was in a great deal of pain and had been thrashing about all night long. She gave her banamine and called Dr. Browning of Apex Vet out for help. Dr. Kim advised us to take her in. It was not looking good. I think we all kinda new that this was not good.
Well, to make a long story short Sugar did not make it. She was put to sleep this afternoon at 2:00p at Apex. For Michelle it's like losing a team-mate and best friend, for the other horses it's like losing a sister and for the the rest of us it's like losing a daughter. We'll forever miss and never forget her heart, her stamina, her undying spirit. We love you Sugar!
