     Title: My owner is nuts -- "Duster"

Have you ever gone to see a martial arts movie in a not so nice area of town?  What happens?  People start acting out the fight scenes in the aisles right?  When you leave a nascar race people drive as fast as their beater cars can take them.  Golfers all want to be Tin Cup and every little kid I know wants to be the next Sea Biscuit.  Apparently my owner is no exception to this phenomenon as he now wants to - get this - crack bull whips while riding me around.  I know, I know... it's a New Zealand stock whip... whatever you call it, it sucks.

I should have know that he'd concoct some crazy idea after going to that rodeo last night.  I figured it would be trick riding or maybe even cowboy shooting.  You know, something cool and fun right?  Instead he shows up today with a ten foot whip and I was like, "Um, what is that for?"

Now let me make sure you understand what is going on here.  When you hear that crack from a whip, what you are hearing is the end of that thing actually breaking the speed of sound.  Now, I'm a horse, so I don't really know what that all entails, but its fast and I can tell you now that it's also painful.  Yeah, he got me on the rear end on the first try.

It was mostly a glancing blow, but it was in that moment that I realized what a bad idea this whole thing was.  Fortunately, in the end we came to an understanding: if you don't hit me with the whip I won't freak out.  If I had thumbs I could have shown him how much it stings.  Instead I just did what anyone would do, lacking thumbs like myself of course.  I jumped around and tried not to get whipped and also not pee myself.

Honestly, it's fun to do new things, but maybe next time a bit more warning or - oh I don't know - practice first?  The good news is that by the end of the day Indiana was getting pretty good and I only got tagged that one time.  Not sure what the plan is for this little trick we are working on but I did hear him say something about picking up cows or something.  Is that a rodeo event?  I've never heard of that one...
